Inside the Atelier

Five stages between raw block and finished frame.

Nothing here is automated past the point of feel. A bench optician checks every pair before it leaves.

Cut

Acetate sheets — layered by hand from raw cotton pulp — are cut from the block on a slow blade to keep the grain intact.

Polish

Each front and temple is buffed through six grades of pumice by hand, finishing in a warm cotton wheel for true mirror clarity.

Coat

Lenses pass through a vacuum chamber for anti-reflective, blue-light, and UV400 layers — eight microns, applied in sequence.

Fit

Hinges are calibrated to open at exactly the same tension, and the lens meridian is aligned to your prescription axis.

Inspect

A final check under macro light — frame symmetry, hinge torque, coating clarity — before the pair is boxed for shipping.

The Lens Lab

Every lens has a meridian.

The meridian is the axis your eye needs corrected — we grind and layer every lens around it, not around a generic curve.

Four layers, fused rather than sprayed on — so the coating won't peel, cloud, or flake the way drugstore lenses do after a year of wear.

Anti-Reflective

Cuts glare from screens and headlights by up to 90%.

Blue-Light Filter

Softens high-energy light from displays during long sessions.

Scratch-Resistant

A hardened outer layer rated for daily pocket-and-bag wear.
